Let's see how far we've come...

I got a chance to visit the friend who's been acting as an adviser on the art and he showed me some sketches he's made of some of the ideas he has come up with.  Wow!  All are various "mysterious" scenes (complete with dialog or captions) and they capture the spirit of the game perfectly. I can't wait to see how the girls turn these into real illustrations.

I talked to the teachers in the school's art department and they recommended a couple of 12th graders who are very talented. Both are very excited about the project and the prospect of seeing their work in a published book and so it looks like I'll have the art taken care of. Best yet, one's specialty are realistic drawings, while the other is really good at cartoon/anime type drawings. Hence I have both styles that I was hoping to use covered.  I've started putting together some ideas of things they could draw and hopefully I'll have some sample art in the next couple weeks.

I'm finally getting back to work on one of the two RPGs I've been writing:  The Kidz playtest rules are done and I've started learning how to use Adobe InDesign (the Adobe video tutorials are very good) in prep for learning how to do the layout. At this point I think the book is going to be comic book size and might even have a comic book style cover although I need to find a cover artist before I settle on a style.
